About Training

The Ministry of Forest and Environment, in collaboration with the Youth Alliance for Environment (YAE) and Practical Action in Nepal, successfully organized a three-day training workshop for Nepal’s negotiators and delegates preparing for COP29. Held from October 22 to 24, 2024, at Chandragiri Hills Resort, the event was graced by Chief Guests Honorable Minister of Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi and State Minister Honorable Rupa B.K. The training aimed to strengthen Nepal’s representation at COP29 by equipping delegates with essential skills in climate diplomacy, negotiation strategies, and the technical language of the UNFCCC process. It enhanced participants’ understanding of critical thematic areas such as climate finance, adaptation, and loss and damage mechanisms. The workshop emphasized Nepal’s commitment to amplifying the voices of youth, women, children, and indigenous peoples in global climate discussions. Delegates collectively expressed their dedication to advocating for mountain issues, securing climate finance, and championing the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQGs) to ensure a fair and resilient future for all.
