Where Conservation Meets Advocacy
The three-day Training Workshop on Advocacy in Rights-Based Conservation, held from 28–30 March 2026 in Pokhara, Nepal, under the GEF-7 cycle SAINO Project (supported by IUCN and ICI and jointly implemented by NEFIN and YAE), has been successfully concluded.
Bringing together more than 40 participants from Lamjung, Kaski, Manang, and Mustang, the workshop served as a dynamic platform for learning, dialogue, and collaboration.
Throughout the program, participants actively engaged in interactive sessions focused on:
• Advocacy skills and strategies
• Indigenous peoples’ rights and conservation
• Strengthening community voices in policy processes
• Building networks for collective action
The workshop marks an important step toward promoting inclusive, equitable, and rights-based approaches to conservation in Nepal.
