Ghalegaun, Kwholasothar Rural Municipality–3, Lamjung

July 22, 2026
The Youth Alliance for Environment (YAE) successfully concluded a one-month Bamboo and Nigalo Handicraft Skill Development Training in Ghalegaun, Kwholasothar Rural Municipality–3, Lamjung, under the SAINO Project: Revitalizing Nature-Culture Relationship and Recollection of Indigenous Peoples in the Annapurna Area of Nepal.
Conducted from 18 June to 17 July 2026 (2083/03/04–2083/04/01), the training equipped local participants with practical skills to transform locally available bamboo and Nigalo into high-quality handicraft products. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable livelihoods, preserve Indigenous craftsmanship, and encourage the sustainable use of natural resources.
This initiative contributes to strengthening local economies while conserving traditional knowledge and supporting community-led sustainable development in the Annapurna landscape.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the participants, the trainer, Kwholasothar Rural Municipality, community members, and project partners for their invaluable support and commitment in making this initiative a success. Together, we continue strengthening the connection between nature, culture, and sustainable livelihoods
