About the Project

The main purpose of the project was to assess the participation and contribution of youth in Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) in the Terai region of Nepal. The study focused on understanding how youth are involved in forest governance, conservation activities, and decision-making processes within community forest user groups.

Key Activities:

  • Study the level of youth involvement in community-based forest management

  • Develop the study framework and tools

  • Conduct field visits in Bara, Mahottari and Kapilvastu to collect data

  • Analyze the collected data as per the study requirements

  • Prepare the final report highlighting the status of youth participation in CBFM
