About Project
To prepare Local Adaptation Plans of Action (LAPAs) for four local government units using a participatory and inclusive process. The project aimed to guide municipalities in mainstreaming climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) into their development planning, budgeting, and resource management processes, ultimately strengthening climate resilience at the local level.
-
To identify, document, and prioritize climate-induced risks and vulnerabilities at the ward and settlement levels, and analyze climate risks across the target municipalities.
-
To enhance the adaptive capacity of vulnerable individuals, households, groups, and communities, and support the identification and implementation of climate-adaptive activities.
-
To increase investment in climate-resilient development by integrating CCA and DRRM issues into annual and periodic local government planning processes.
-
To support the development of climate-resilient infrastructure, and strengthen sectors such as education, health, drinking water, and local technologies.
-
To raise public awareness on climate change and resilience, targeting elected representatives, municipal officials, and vulnerable communities.
-
To coordinate and collaborate with key agencies—including NAPA 2, District Coordination Committees, neighboring municipalities, NGOs, ward offices, and other stakeholders—through a participatory and effective approach.
