About Project
To develop Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) for 13 river systems in the Churia region of Province 1, ensuring that all CERP intervention packages are environmentally sound, socially responsible, and inclusive. The project focuses on identifying potential risks, proposing mitigation measures, and preparing safeguarding frameworks that support sustainable and equitable implementation.

To develop Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) for each CERP intervention package with potential environmental or social impacts.

To prepare Social Inclusion Plans (SIP) to ensure equitable participation and benefit-sharing among vulnerable and marginalized groups.

To prepare Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPP) to safeguard the rights, culture, and interests of indigenous communities potentially affected by project interventions.
Implemented with support from FAO Nepal, covering 13 river systems of the Churia region in Province 1 — Kokaha, Gideri Khola, Patnali Khola, Sun Koshi, Kankai Nadi, Ratuwa Nadi, Adherei Khola, Ba-ruwa Khola, Duar Khola, Biring Khola, Bataha Khola, Budhi Khola, Lohandra Nadi, Mechi Khola, and Bakraha Khola — from June 2022 to January 2024.
