About Write-shop
The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Forests and Environment/Climate Change Management Division (CCMD), together with Youth Alliance for Environment- YAE and Save the Children in Nepal, successfully organized a two-day Write-shop on Drafting Thematic Position Papers for COP-30 on 21–22 August 2025 in Kathmandu. The event was facilitated by Dr. Prakash S. Thapa, Under Secretary, Climate Change Management Division and was graced by the presence of Hon. Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, Ministry of Forests and Environment.
The objective of the Write-shop was to draft thematic position papers, which will ultimately contribute to the formulation of Nepal’s National Position Paper for COP-30. Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, Chief of the Climate Change Management Division, Ministry of Forests and Environment, provided guidance and technical input to all thematic groups throughout the two-day write-shop.
Key Outcome: Draft Position Papers from all eight thematic groups were successfully prepared, forming the foundation for Nepal’s National Position Paper for COP-30. We are truly grateful to MoFE/CCMD for this wonderful opportunity to be a part of this important initiative. There is still a long way to go.
