About Project

To identify potential locations and appropriate technologies for establishing community-based early warning systems (EWS) across 44 VDCs in the 11 SABAL districts. The project aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness, enhance community resilience, and inform future investments in localized early warning mechanisms.

  • To review and map the existing community-based early warning systems in Nepal, including those within the SABAL program districts.

  • To identify feasible areas for installing early warning systems across 44 VDCs in 11 districts.

  • To recommend the most appropriate early warning technologies suitable for the identified locations.

Implemented under CARE Nepal / SABAL Program, covering Udayapur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Makwanpur, Kavre, Nuwakot, and Rasuwa from December 2016 to May 2017 (6 months).
