About Project

SIDA funded CSO Strengthening project named as Strengthening CSOs and Amplifying Children’s Voices through Networking, Knowledge Sharing and Action Learning for Promoting Children’s Rights in Nepal (SANKALP) is being implemented under the auspices of Save the Children (SC) Nepal supports civil society organization’s efforts to strengthen their own development effectiveness, including transparency and accountability. This program involves collaboration with 13 civil society organizations, united in their mission to enhance their capabilities through knowledge exchange and cooperative strategies and has been implementing at national, provincial, and local level. All CSOs are equally contributing to achieve the overarching goal which is to support a strong civil society that demands and supports the fulfilment of children’s rights– holding states to account and mobilizing and empowering children and their communities over five years (2022-2026).

Within the SANKALP program, YAE acts as a technical and resource agency, working to enhance partner organizations’ comprehension and capacity regarding environmental and climate change issues in the context of child rights. YAE conducts research and generates data to explore the intersection of climate change, environmental challenges, and child rights, providing a foundation for evidence-based advocacy. Furthermore, YAE actively lobbies for the inclusion of children’s perspectives and voices in policy-making processes, ensuring their needs and rights are prioritized in environmental and climate-related policies. Regular engagement with partner organizations and joint monitoring of implementation with SC Nepal are essential aspects of this support. It also takes an active role in facilitating knowledge exchange through cross-learning platforms leading technical discussions.

Finally support/coach the other partner organizations under Sida program and Capacity building of SCOs on environment and Climate Change. Integrate the environment and climate change into their organizational strategy, and thereby ensure its integration into organizational programs and practice.
