Narative Description of Project
The overall objective of this proposed research project is to assess the status, causes, and consequences of illegal wildlife trade in Nepal and to make policy and programmatic recommendations to policy makers in order to tackle it.
✤ To determine status, trends and geographical distribution of illicit wildlife trade (e.g., seizures) in Nepal
✤ To identify trade networks within Nepal and abroad (e.g., origin, transit and destination);
✤ To review roles of relevant Government of Nepal agencies in combating illegal wildlife trade in Nepal
✤ To provide recommendations based on the ‘lessons learned” in combating wildlife poaching and trade of various wildlife species of Nepal
